Don’t forget to sign up for snack!

Hi all –This is a friendly reminder from your lovely NSW culinary “team” that the September snack calendars are up on the wall for both the East Wing and the West Wing and they would LOVE to be filled in.

We are encouraging each family to sign for one day per month. Jill Bryman (Riley, WW)  had the great suggestion of choosing a day per month, like the 16th of reach month, and signing up for that particular day each month. That way, when the 16th rolls around on the calendar each month, you know it’s your day to bring snack.

If anyone doesn’t get to come to school regularly, OR if you keep meaning to sign up for snack while at school and forgetting, please feel free to email me anytime, and I’ll sign up for you and confirm that I did it.

Keep the following in mind:

— Your child loves to bring in Snack. They get to feel special, write the snack menu for that day, and carry the sign around telling everyone that snack is open.– Don’t be intimidated by snack! It doesn’t have to be time consuming, just healthy. You can bring mini bagels with cream cheese, or crackers and carrots, or grapes and wheat bread.

— Having said that, if you’re someone who’s into food and has some time to do some preparation, then feel free to think outside the box. Oatmeal with fruit, soup, mini-pizzas, celery stuffed with chicken salad, are all things that could be brought in, if you have the time and inclination. Again, NO pressure!!!!!

— Avoid sugar, and no nuts.

Feel free to email me with ideas or questions, etc.
