What’s happening in the Back Patio?

Woodworking

Gibson initially repaired a car in the woodworking area.  He wanted to have something for his car to drive under, so he made a bridge.  Determining that his bridge was over water, he reasoned that his car would need to float under the bridge, and built it a canoe.

During a Daisy reflection meeting, Gibson shared what he'd been working on in the back patio when his dad comes to assist with woodworking.

What did you use?

Gibson: I used nails and a hammer and wood glue. Then I 'wire sewed' this part of the bridge.

Rylee: Wow Gibson, you used a lot of different kinds of materials!

Henry: But where's your water for the canoe to go under the bridge?

Gibson: Well I thought about it and I couldn't think of a way to make water, so I was going to try my bathtub.

Legacy: That won't work because you used glue. It will make your bath water sticky.

Sasha: You could use a really thin piece of blue wood and put it underneath for the water.

Truman: Where are the ramps to your bridge?

Gibson: what do you mean?

Truman: For your car to go up and down the bridge.

Gibson: I don't know how to make that.

Truman: I can help you.

Truman and Gibson decided to work together after the reflection meeting and will add on to Gibson's bridge.  Gibson intended to bring his work to Daisy circle to share what he viewed as a completed piece.  However, his friend's questions challenged him to add to his work, and he was willing to take on this challange.
