Dear East Wing Friends,
Unbelievably, we are coming to the end of our school year and with that we are preparing to celebrate our years of friendship together with our Culmination Party on Friday, July 23rd.
We will begin our day at Beethoven Elementary School’s auditorium at 11:00 when our East Wing children (and, yes, you are all invited) will gather to sing a few songs, honor their teachers, and join you to watch a short DVD celebrating their time with us at NSW. Around 12n-ish we will head on over to NSW for lunch and visit awhile before saying goodbye around 2:00.
We are on our way to putting the finishing touches together. With 34 families on the East Wing, we are following last year’s plan and continuing with a sweet NSW tradition. Here’s what we’ve got planned:
● The ceremony and party will be on Friday, July 23rd, for all the children and families on the East Wing.
· The time will be 11:00-2:00.
· The ceremony will begin at Beethoven Elementary School’s auditorium so we can accommodate all of our families and grandparents.
· We will have a catered lunch and our West Wing families will help host the party for you at NSW so you can relax and enjoy your day.
· The ceremony should last just short of an hour. The children will sing three songs (I think that’s the latest count) and we will give them certificates and we will honor our teachers.
· The teachers have planned a slide show that we can watch there at Beethoven. Then we’ll all go back (you can walk or drive) to school to share good food and even better friendship.
In the NSW tradition, your keepsakes will include a T-shirt (that will be a surprise on the day of graduation), a yearbook, a certificate, and a DVD. This year Silvana’s boyfriend, Ernesto, will again put together the yearbook for us (thank you, Ernesto). With amazing luck, Allison Holmes (Bryce Amanda’s mom WW) has generously donated the full color printing and binding of the yearbook. We are so grateful for this donation. It is also a tradition that the graduating class leaves a legacy gift. The teachers have put laptops and cameras on their wish list.
· With that, we are asking the families to contribute $65 for the “graduation package”.
There is an envelope marked “graduation” on the office door. Kris will be your contact person. Let her know if you can help with any of the preparations. Looking forward to celebrating together. It’s been a great ride!
