Welcoming new families

Today was the first whole flower group play date for our incoming families. The Lilies worked as ambassadors to welcome the new Roses (Samantha’s group in the fall) by making nametags for the children.

We started the day with a small circle. Roleen sang ‘the name song’ and introduced the group to each other and the Lilies. Samantha read a book and did some movement.

After circle, the areas in the WW were open to explore.

Sienna assisted Genevieve Grossmueller.

Leo Maida and David Rothbart connected over magnet blocks.

Raven and Oliver Smukler worked together with blocks.

We took a break for snack with Valerie.

Then hit the back patio for some fun before a goodbye circle.

Maddox, Sienna, Addy, Raven, Sadie, and all the Lilies were very respectful of the new children in the spaces and used kind words and a welcoming spirit to make the morning visit a success.  The teachers have a good insight into how best to facilitate this ambassador energy throughout the school in the next coming months.
