Being Different is Normal

Being Different is Normal: a 2015 graduate class exhibition about the joy of difference has travelled. Beginning at the Pedagogical Institute, it moved to the MVCC Municipal Building in Westchester where we presented to community members and other educators. After that we were invited to install the work at East Los Angeles College and presented to early childhood education students during their diversity seminar. It is currently slated to appear at Mar Vista Art Walk to engage our neighbors and community members with a new image of children.

Our goal with this traveling exhibition is to increase the awareness of children’s capabilities and citizenry in our Los Angeles communities. The teachers volunteer their time to install, organize openings, present and tear down the exhibit every chance we get because sharing the work of children is our passion at New School-West.  -Kristin
