Teacher Silvana Sepulveda
My name is Silvana Sepulveda. I was born in Canada and my family is from Chile. My most enjoyable memories of childhood were at school because we were a harmonious community. This is one of the reasons why I decided to join the NSW family. I love that New School-West is a community where parents, teachers, staff and children can share information and support each other’s development.

My name is Georgia Imgrund and this is my family. We live in Mar Vista. My mom, Josyln Treece, was born and raised in Colorado. She works as a non-profit fundraiser. My dad, Mark Imgrund, was born and raised in New Jersey. He works as film editor. They love to travel, read, hike, cook, and listen to music. My sister, Hayden, is 6 years old and loves to play “family.” She goes to Open Magnet Charter School. We have a dog named Lola. On weekends, we love to go on picnics. Our favorite park is Clover Park. Our family is special because we have relatives spread out among three states. Our eclectic group of friends here in L.A. have become “family” to me and my sister.

My name is Hana and this is my family. We live in Venice. My mom, Sari, was born and raised in Venice, CA. She works as a social worker and loves to swim in the ocean. My dad, Jacob, was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He works as public policy analyst and loves to garden and swim. My brother, Yuji, is 5 years old and loves to play with legos. He goes to New School West. As a family, we love to go to the beach on weekends. Our favorite place to visit is our relatives’ homes and our favorite park is Culver-West Park. Our family is special because we will go to the far stretches of the county to eat any kind of special food
My name is Skylar “Cookie” Mae Hembree and this is my family. We live in Cameo Woods. My mom is Vanda Hembree. She was born and raised in Los Angeles. She works as a property manager and loves to read books about vampires and shifters. My other mom is Heather Welch. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, too. She works in the childcare field. And she loves water play. My sister, Sasha, is 6 years old and loves to swim and talk. She goes to school at Clover Avenue Elementary. My brothers are Rino, age 6, and Eddie, age 8. They love to draw and crash things. They go to Lynnwood Howe Elementary. We have two pet turtles named Fonzie & Sparky. On weekends, we love to hang out together and have fun. Our favorite park is Kenneth Hahn and Virginia Park. Our family is special because we are a blended family.
Our names are Leah and Hayden Chaffin and this is our family. We live in Marina Del Rey. My mom Nicole was born in Washington, DC (although most of her family is from Jamaica, West Indies) and grew up in Potomac, Md. She works as an attorney and television executive at Fox Broadcasting Company and loves to play tennis, read and travel. My dad Lee was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was also raised in Baltimore. He has a media consulting company that advises clients about new ways to distribute content like television programs. And he loves to watch football and basketball, travel and barbeque. We are 31/2 years old and love to dance, sing, and read. We go to school at New School-West. We have a pet named Kobe- he is a black English Labrador. On weekends, we love to ride bicycles to the beach; go to Karate and dance class; hang out at the Farmer’s Market. Our favorite park is Playa Vista . Our family is special because we spend a lot of time traveling. We go to NY and Washington all the time to see our 8 cousins, grandparents and aunts and uncles.

My name is Ila and this is my family. We live in a house on Redwood Ave., L.A., CA. My mom, Jody Labb, aka Mama, was born in New Jersey and grew up in Arizona. She works as an at home mama and at Elijah’s school and loves to be silly, go to the beach, needle felt and love the family. My dad, Evan Labb, aka Papa, was born and raised in New York City. He works as a director of business development for “Wet Paint” and loves to surf, read, do ‘a project’, camp, hike, and travel. My brother, Elijah Labb, is 6 years old and loves to climb trees, skateboard, and read. He goes to Ocean Charter School. We have a pet named Clemenza. As a family, we love to go on adventures, to the beach, and the farmer’s market on weekends. Our favorite place to visit is Fire Island, NY and Arizona and our favorite park is the beach. Our family is special because we love spending time together. We find joy in the surprises each day brings. My name is Jackson Sebastian Bice and this is my family. We live in Inglewood. My dad, Jon, was born in Inglewood and grew up in Inglewood. He works as an Artist/Designer/ Preschool teacher/Clay teacher and loves to make designs. My mom, Milena, was born in Colombia, South America, and grew up in Culver City. She works as a preschool teacher and loves to dance and garden. My brother, Pablo, is 4 years old and loves to wrestle with me. He goes to school at New School West in the East Wing. We have a baby brother named Diego. We call him Diegito. I hold Diegito in my lap when mommy or daddy have to go to the bathroom or get work done. I also like Diegito to watch me sing and dance. I play with his fingers and toes and kiss his face. We have a pet named Gordo (a Beta fish), Shark (an alligator lizard), and we are getting a hairless rat soon!!! On weekends, we love to go swimming at the YMCA. We love seeing new parks and eating at restaurants. Our favorite park is Playa Vista. Our family is special because we are always together. Me and my brother are all named after painters. My name is Kai Henry Rocket Martin, and this is my family. We live in Mar Vista. My mom Jodi Loeffler was born in Los Gatos, California and grew up in Santa Cruz, California. She works as a Physical Therapist and Professor of Physical Therapy and loves to play with her boys and take walks on the beach. My dad, Niranjan Martin was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. He works as a Motion Picture Camera Assistant and loves to surf, skateboard with me and take pictures. My brother Taj Van Blue is 5 months old and loves to smile, eat & sleep. We have two cats named Irving and Moca. As a family we love to go out to breakfast, play at the park, drive trains and play music together. Our favorite place to visit is Hawaii and our favorite park is the beach. Our family is special because we all have our own Thomas The Train and Winnie The Pooh names. Hi my name is Mason and this is my family. We live in West LA. My mom, Samantha, was born in North Carolina, and was raised in Virginia and Lakewood, California. She works as a teacher at New School West and loves to go to amusement parks, the beach, and on road trips. My dad, James, was born in Roseville California, and was raised in Marina Del Rey, CA. He works as a server, and loves to go on boat rides, and vacations to Catalina. I have a pet fish named Blade. On the weekends we like to spend special time together doing different things around the community, like fairs, concerts and the farmers market. Our favorite park is Veterans Park because it has lots of grass to run in, and a baseball field that I can play in the mud in after it rains. Our family is special because we love each other so much! My name is Micah and this is my family. We live in Los Angeles. My mom was born and raised in Michigan. My dad was born in Los Angeles and raised in Maryland. They both work as social workers. And love to hug me, laugh, play sports and take photographs. We have a pet named Nemo. On weekends, we love to go to the beach, the zoo and the park. Our favorite park is the Village Green, where we live. Our family is special because we have cousins all over the country, can eat gallons of blueberries in a single week and can be the silliest of the silly. My name is Sadie Jade Cohen and this is my family. We live in West Los Angeles. My mom, Tamy Polland Cohen, was born and raised in L.A. She works as a marriage and family therapist and loves to dance, hike, unicycle, paint, garden and cuddle me! My dad, Mark Alan Cohen, was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Los Angeles. He works as a psychiatrist loves to play basketball, read, be our tech-support, and act silly with me. We have pet cats named George and Sprite. As a family, we love to go on adventures, pretend play, make a fire and “camp” next to it (inside!). Our favorite place to visit is Bapa’s (grandma) house and our favorite parks are Temescal Canyon and Franklin Canyon. Our family is special because we love each other, we talk about our feelings a lot, laugh a lot, respect each other, most of all, we sure know how to pick a great pre-school.
