“You can make any book you want…” – Theo

Fully determined to finish their book about Bear, the children and I reviewed their initial drawings in the computer. They then helped type some letters of their words to describe the story.

They also decided where to place the text within the formatted story page on the computer. After we printed the pages out, we laminated them and Theo and Max asked Teacher Katherine if she could guide them in sewing the binding of the book.

Everyone beamed with pride and exclaimed how happy they were to share the finished book at Reflection Meeting the next day.

Theo: You know, you can make any book you want in the Communication Center.

It’s amazing how dedicated this group of children were in their determination to finish their bear book. Their collaborative, unwavering persistence drove them to create  a relatable book that can be read and enjoyed by many. We are honored to invite you to take a look at their book, Bear Got Lost with Mama, which lives in the Communication Center in the East Wing.
