Working with dirt this week…

Sam and Yoli planted some shade flowers (impatiens) with Mia and Easton to brighten the Paper House in the Front Yard.

Kris, Sarah (Sam’s mom), Debbie (Austin’s mom) and Michelle (Blue’s mom) sowed some seeds with Addy, Leo, Ila, and Hanami for OVF.  More seeds will be ‘direct planted’ in the Charity Garden this Friday.

Hanami: “Icky, sticky, micky. I like broccoli.” Hanami planted broccoli seeds in wet dirt.

Ila: “I like carrots. One, one, one, one, one, one.” She counted out the seeds to correspond to her pots.

Michelle: “Here, I’m gonna give you two seeds.”

Leo: “Oh, it went down there.”

Michelle: “That’s alright.”

Leo: “Then we have to cover it.”

Debbie: “Here’s one inch.  We need 1/2 inch for kale.”

Addy: “So here’s a half inch. My mom does this.”

Ila made carrot and broccoli signs for the seedlings.

The seedlings are sprouting in the Charity Garden before they move to OVF. Feel free to visit their progress.

Some kids stripped down to beat the heat in the dirt pit.
