Stefanie Solyom is joining the East Wing team in support of the children’s community. She has her AA from SMC in early childhood education with a specialization in intervention and a site supervisor permit and her BA in psychology fro UofBC.
Here’s how she describes herself: My name is Stefanie, and I am an avid gardener, baker, and lover of all things crafty. I started my journey to get to New School-West in Vancouver, Canada where I lived for most of my life. I volunteered at a riding stable for children with disabilities and absolutely loved being present as a child discovered partnership with their horse, and the freedom of movement that this provided. From there I went to school for psychology, but struggled to find an application for that knowledge. Eventually my boyfriend Jordan and I moved to Santa Monica and I found the Santa Monica College early childhood education program. It was a perfect fit for me, and I am looking forward to getting to know New School-West’s children, parents, and staff.
