We are still thinking of our friends, Dahlia, Juliette, Sanam, and Zac who said goodbye to NSW and L.A. on April 21st and we miss them! As part of their farewell, we asked them to write something for our blog. So. . . it’s a bit late (our apologies) but here are some fun photos and sweet thoughts that they shared with us. We are sending best wishes and forever holding great memories. Best Friends Forever!
We can’t believe this day is here. It has always felt like a million days away, until now.
Our family — Dahlia (WW), Juliette (WW), Sanam, Zac & amp; our cat, Waylon — is moving
to London tomorrow! Zac has been traveling back and forth for work, and we are excited to be in one place
together.
Oh, but we will miss you, our NSW family, so much. We parents were both teary at drop-
off today. I know Dahlia and Juliette will miss all their wonderful NSW friends so much.
Also, their beloved teachers, and all their little favorite spots at school – the House Area,
the Atelier (which we’re always reminded includes the Sand Area), the Communication
Area. Juliette has been really excited about making paper boxes lately. Dahlia has drawn
so many pictures at school we have a big stack of them on their way to our new home!
They have both loved listening to stories, singing songs, learning sign language and
Spanish, gymnastics with Peggy, learning to write, painting their faces in the afternoon,
working with all kinds of amazing materials. And of course, the snacks.
Dahlia still wants to show us how she’s learned to go “bar to bar” on the monkey bars –
she has the callouses to prove it. Juliette still wants to show us how fast she’s learned to
pedal the red trikes. Maybe at pick up later today. We are so grateful that their first
school experience has been at such a magical, special place, and we will always
remember you.
And, though we have been talking about the move for some time, the girls are still
looking forward to playdates with NSW friends, and just this morning, they were telling
us about the upcoming Parents’ Day. We are heartbroken they can’t join, but please know
that we love you all so much and we hope to visit someday (we may even move back to
LA in a few years).
Movers came to our place yesterday and all our things are going on a big ship to London.
Before the move, Dahlia said that she didn’t want people not in our family to move our
things. (Thank you NSW for helping our girls get really great at expressing their feelings
in words.) Luckily, most of the move happened during school. Juliette wanted us to let
her know if the movers were boys or girls. She also wanted to share with everyone that
she slept at a hotel last night.
We will fly to London tomorrow, but because our things will arrive in 2 months, we are
first staying a place that has furniture. There’s a shared garden in the back with a play
structure – including a tire swing, which Dahlia and Juliette are very excited about.
Our address until later this summer is:
32 Lansdowne Crescent
London
W11 2NT
UK
We’d all love to hear from you! By mail, phone or in person if you are traveling to
Europe.
Hugs and kisses,
Sanam, Zac, Dahlia & Juliette
