“Look what happened!” – Zoe

zoeThe children have begun the exploration of water color paints in the Mini Studio. Amy introduced the “warm colors” starting with red and yellow. The water color paint is applied to a shared canvas using pipette droppers, strengthening the fine motor skills practiced in the Atelier during the color mixing experiences.

Jake: It changed!

Harrison: And the cat!

The children were easily able to manipulate the droppers after their earlier experiences in the Atelier. With less attention and focus required to successfully utilize the tools, we are seeing more intentionality in regards to composition and placement of color and we are enjoying seeing the ways in which the children represent inspirations from their environment. – Jessica
