The Gardening Team worked hard over the weekend to update our community garden. They replaced dirt and broke and hauled away concrete to create a living pathway between the front and back play areas. Today, the children pitched in by planting the Diamondia between concrete slits so that it grows over them making a green carpet in our garden.
This planting will complete Phase 1 of the Garden Team’s plan. It included a freshening of the entry garden, planting Front Yard vines in the woodchip area, redesigning the community garden (starting with the path) and a drip irrigation system to keep it all healthy.
Phase 2 will include adding potted fruit trees to the garden, hanging a vertical garden on the fence, and a redesign of the mud pit plants.
Join us in this active committee engaged in developing our plant story – this takes a lot of helping hands! Contact Brandi (Roen’s mom, EW) and Kelly (Eliotte’s mom, EW) who are organizing the work. We are forever grateful for the creativity, huge efforts, enthusiasm, and care of our NSW families – amazing!
