Anna (Mica, EW) shared a family tradition with the East Wingers this morning about remembering those in their family who have died. Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, celebrates our memories of loved ones with their favorite foods, traditional flowers, and symbols like sugar skulls (not for eating). The children were very eager to hear stories of Mica’s family and recounted family members and pets in their own families who have died. Part of the tradition is to put a photograph of the person or pet you’re remembering on the alter. Anna moved the elements to the entry table for everyone to enjoy and participate. Feel free to add your photos as we enter into the holidays together and with gratitude for each other.
Dia de los Muertos!
