This week’s contributions are dedicated to gratitude for your support of our studies in Reggio Emilia, Italy. We are organizing our notes and photos and thoughts to share with you how this study has moved New School-West. As Sabrina Tom (Serena ’18 & Felix ’16) said,
“Thanks to you—your families, extended families, caretakers, “last minute sitters, everyone who took care of children and made it possible to close down the school for a week—we have come back from our week in Reggio Emilia transformed. We want you to know that the teachers went deep, that they were nothing less than professorial in their learning and research, that they stuffed their stomachs as much as their minds, that they missed your children and thought about how to transform New School West for every member of the community, every step of the way.”

Here we are in the hills around Reggio Emilia with our dear philosopher friend, Harold Göthson and his daughter, Linnea – a teacher in Sweden.
We had a special guest return to support our last days of school – Lucy Riskin (class of 2014). She’s been documenting with a school camera and taking notes on her observations – a teacher in training!
It was Olivia’s birthday in the West Wing and she celebrated with a book that is now available for check out!
Snack was provided by Kou, Ephy, Fiona, Lola, Marina, Ennio, Agnes, Hayes, Phedon, Marina, Aliana, Lily, Clem and Juliet
And then, the chairs of our vibrant parent committees share information with incoming chairpersons in a very NSW fashion – with nibbles and drinks on a warm evening.
