What a great Parent as Partners meeting we had last night! People gathered together to discuss ways that we can improve our communication, as well as our committees, for the 2010/2011 school year.
One big goal is to help parents feel involved in the school. We’ll implement a “buddy system” to help new families feel welcome; we’ll plan more family gatherings (who doesn’t love the fun stuff?!); we’ll debut an updated blog; and are committed to creating stronger committees with designated leaders.
In addition, we’ll also be increasing opportunities for parents to volunteer throughout the year, from working in the nap room, to sharing your special skill(s) with the kids, to helping with maintaining the upkeep of our beautiful school.
The New Parents Orientation is coming up soon: Wednesday, June 16th. Returning parents are encouraged to attend this meeting as well. We’ll talk about the upcoming year, the Chairs of each committee will have an opportunity to talk for a couple of minutes about their committee, and of course there will be wine, food, and all kinds of bonding – old families and new! Let's welcome the new crew!
