mailbox walk

ON February 15th, we posted the kernel of interest that has lead us through the month to a visit to the Post Office. (To see the original ideas, type ‘deliver the  mail’ into the search bar above.) The group investigating the actual Post Office met with parent volunteers for a walk to meet the Post Master of our Venice Blvd branch. Cindy made a ‘here we come’ call the morning of, and was told that the person was sick and the sub was in Jury Duty, we would not be accommodated that day.

“What if we write letters and walk them to the blue mailbox today?” -Lance Kessler (Bryce’s dad, EW)

The children scrambled to the office to fetch envelopes, stamps, return address labels and set to work. They created messages to themselves and addressed the envelopes with help from the adults.

They set out for the mailbox.
