It’s Teacher Holiday Gift Time…
Dear Families:
…Juicing oranges. Making rockets, airplanes and things that course through tubes. Exploring the neighborhood. Helping plants grow….
Every week, the blog offers us glimpses into our children’s lives at New School West. And, it’s the teachers that make it all happen. These little things that seem so simple—things that we might take for granted—get transformed into evocative experiences, meaningful memories and indispensable teaching moments for our children. Just think of how much the teachers do to make New School West a special and safe place for our children. They work tirelessly to develop new ways to stimulate and engage our children (even coming in on the weekends to redesign the entire classroom spaces). They not only teach, but also follow, nurture, connect, and play with our children every day.
The holidays offer us a time to show our deep gratitude for all that the teachers do. It is a school tradition to give a holiday gift of cash to the teachers in appreciation of everything they give our children, and in turn, our families. This year we ask that each family donate at least $35.00. While this is a suggested minimum, please feel free to give more. The money will be evenly distributed between the teachers before the school break. Please place a check (made out to CASH) or cash in the large envelope on the office door (marked Teacher Holiday Gift 2011).
The deadline is Tuesday, December 13th.
Please help us say thank you to ADRIANA, AMY, CINDY, CYNTHIA, FLORA, IVANA, JESSICA, KATHERINE, KRIS, PAOLA, SAM, SILVANA and YOLI. Let them know how much we appreciate them!
Cheers and happy holidays,
