It’s come to my attention that some parents at NSW don’t realize we have the rare and valuable opportunity to receive a box of fresh organic fruits and vegetables EVERY WEEK at New School West.
I can’t even count the ways this makes life better, but I’ll try:
1) CONVENIENCE: No worries about going to the farmers market as the farmers come to you.
2) VARIETY: A lot of CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) programs don’t offer much variety because they are from one farm. Samantha gets produce from a number of local farms so there are always lots of great fruits and vegetables to choose from.
3) LESS WASTE: It’s a lot easier not to waste produce when you know how much you are going to get every week. Experiment with the size of box to see how much your family and plan meals according to what’s already in the box!
3) RECIPES. Not only do you get amazingly fresh produce, but Samantha Kaplan sends out an accompanying newsletter to tell you how to prepare foods you’re not familiar with which leads to
4) THE JOY OF DISCOVERY. Who knew delicata squash is so tasty when roasted until carmelized? And so easy to make? We do now thanks to Sam’s newsletter.
5) SUPPORTING FARMERS, A BETTER PLANET. Pesticides aren’t good for anybody–farmers or the land and when you get your CSA box, you’re supporting in creating an environmentally friendly, flexible job. What could be better?

Good Life Organics brings organic produce from local farms here for families to enjoy and the school gets back 5% from every box.
