Dear New School West Families,
I am thrilled to be starting up again leading creative movement
investigations with your children. Did you know that for three years I have
been coming to NSW as part of their commitment to The Hundred Languages of Children? We work with the language of movement and kinesthetic expression.
Our inquiries over the years have been about insects, emotions, shapes, poems, spatial awareness, sequential patterns, machines, animals, airplanes and memory to name a few. I work closely with the teachers so that our sessions mirror and support their classroom objectives.
My work with NSW started simply to bring
my passion for movement into the school where my then 3-year-old son was then attending. It has grown into a career path leading to the development of my Family Dance Jam business: presenting workshops at Early Childhood conferences about movement and teaching at other schools. As we begin our next session I hope that you will follow our progress, come participate in a class or dialogue with the children about what they are exploring.
This session meets on Monday mornings I rotate through 6-week sessions with groups from the West and East wings.
I am always available to talk about the work we are doing or to answer any
questions you may have. ilaanini@gmail.com
If you are interested in playing some of the dance games I have created as a
whole family you can check out the schedule of events for Family Dance Jam
at www.familydancejam.com <http://www.familydancejam.com> .
It is my deep honor to get to know your children! I hope to meet you or talk
to you soon.
Sincerely,
Ilaan Egeland Mazzini
