Rainy Day Games

The children have been requesting to play more games. Knowing the developmental skills children get from playing games, yesterday (a rainy day) was just right to bring them out. We are slowly introducing them by making sure "we follow the instructions" from the game.

Hungry Hippo and Going Fishing are two favorites. Because there is so much demand for these two games, the children start by creating the sign up list.
Getting ready for the game, the children begin by choosing which color hippo they are going to be. The teacher tells them they can open the game only after they figure out which color they are going to be.IMG_4318

Sasha: we were talking about the problems.
Henry: Truman says it doesn't matter the color. It matters if it is a boy or a girl. I like all the colors.
Arthur: I like all the colors too.
Sasha: I even like black. See how much black I'm wearing?
Truman: AH! This game was hard! I was usually the sales bin. When everyone else didn't get enough balls, I was
passing them some of mine.

This group played the game for about 20-25 minutes. They didn't encounter any more problems. When their hippo didn't eat any balls, the other friends, like
Truman, would give them one or two.
