If you were with us last summer, you might have caught the presentation of Little Feet in a Big World which we will show again at the Pedagogical Institute on 9/26/15, Saturday at 9:00am (email me if you want to come see it, free). In this presentation we talked about the children’s curiosity about the shopkeepers on Venice Blvd. and planned with the parents to support a newsletter as a strategy to document the experience. In order to get some first hand exposure to what the children would encounter, we walked out on Venice Blvd. to ‘practice’ while you were on summer break and we were on teacher in-service. Here’s what we put together….
Today, Flora and Cindy met with a group of children to review the newsletter. They define a newsletter as something that “helps people get to know each other” -Ava. Since their last walk, the children have interviewed Raj, the owner of Hurry Curry and are designing the content for their first publication. Watch for it in the coming weeks – no subscription necessary.
