Tie-dye was a fun time this year. Who doesn’t enjoy coloring their own
shirts? Tie-dye is a great way to get the children to use their fine
motor skills (putting rubber bands on shirts) and exercise color mixing. It is also amazing to watch the more experienced children help other children and
share their techniques with them. The children are always so
proud to wear the clothes they’ve tie-dyed. -Jessica
Lawson: “Look what I made! Purple. I mixed blue and pink. I have never
tie-dyed before.”
Lucy T.-: “You get to put colors by squeezing the bottles. Then you put
the t-shirt on when it is all done.”
Alejandro: “I used red. It is my favorite color.”
Maddox: “I like to put the color dye on, not the rubber bands. Some
rubber bands broke when I tried putting them on.”
Jake: “I like tie-dying because I like colors.”
