“It’s too loud!”

During our sound sessions, the teachers noticed that the children had related low pitch sounds to softness, and high pitch sounds to loudness. We decided to set up experiences for the children to investigate these specific sounds and help them distinguish each one. This week, we began by bringing in a definite low resonating sound: large water jugs. The exploration began with the children kicking, slapping and hitting the jugs.
