“We wish you well, Harper!” – The East Wing

We are writing to share the exciting yet bittersweet news — that Harper has been offered a place in Citizens of the World’s TK class and will be starting at CWC today, August 28th.
We shared with the East Wing children Thursday and Friday about Harper starting a new school, just as Dashiell, MJ, and Willow have. At the end of the last school year, we made a large board clarifying who will be going where next year. To make this information tangible, we added a Citizens of the World box on the board where Harper moved her individual photo.

Teacher Silvana, holding the calendar: I have important news to share. Harper’s last day in the East Wing will be tomorrow. She will be starting a new school called Citizens of the World on Monday, September 28th.
Remy: My brother goes there.
Mila: My brother does, too. I will go there for kindergarten.
Gus: We can write a letter that says, ‘Will you please come back and visit us?’ and then walk to the post office and mail it.
India: We can have play dates.
Teacher Silvana: We may see Harper at NSW on the days she comes to pick up her sister Mabel from the West Wing. We can wish Harper well at her new school.
In unison, “We wish you well, Harper.

Throughout the day children worked on a poster and drawings to illustrate how much we will miss her. Harper has close friendships with many and it is no surprise that her peers have come up with many tools to stay connected. We wish you well, Harper! – Teacher Silvana
