Today was our first school day of the year visiting the Venice Farmers Market from 9:30-11:30. These visits include the always exciting city bus ride on #33 to the destination and back. While there, Teacher Ivana and her son, Philippos (NSW 2017 grad), assisted Teacher Roxanne in introductions to the vendors and tradition of the Friday trips. Zoë, Gus’s mom/EW, chaperoned this first outing.
Gus, Leah, Grace, Archie and Philippos all took part in the Venice City Council’s free chalk booth. They tasted foods and purchased snack while introducing the community to children as community members who take public transit, sample and purchase organic and local foods, and work collaboratively.
Special thanks to Zoë, Teacher Ivana, and Philippos for passing the baton of this cherished NSW tradition to Teacher Roxanne. There are still spots on the hallway sign up to chaperone a trip with your child or click onto the link in Roleen’s It’s Monday.
