The East Wing children have worked hard on their flower curtain. Over time they began to notice that the paint was not sticking and the delicate plastic curtain itself was beginning to tear. Wanting to honor the children’s investment in this work the teachers looked into other materials and made a decision to transfer the work over to something that would last over a long period of time. Strong plexi-glass was introduced to the children as the new canvas. Again the children transferred their images by tracing their original drawings. They mixed and blended paints to create the desired shades and hues and are now in the process of painting. You can check out this ongoing work in the Back Patio Studio. When the painting is complete it will hang in the East Wing classroom above the cubbies as a legacy of this investment of focused time.
