Dear West Wing parents,
By now, we’ve seen your children on playdates, on Zoom, and at your home. We are so excited to welcome them to school on Monday, August 31. We teachers have been busy all month preparing for their arrival: setting up environments, choosing materials, and planning provocations that will bring joy, inspire wonder, build relationships, and create community in our classrooms. We are so ready for your children to arrive — and we thank all of you for being a part of our school.
For those of you who were able to make our first Parent Zoom, thanks for joining us! For those who weren’t able to attend — or for those who’d like to revisit — here’s the link to the recording: https://vimeo.com/452017621/b67759bed0
Roleen will be hosting another parent zoom on Monday at 9:30 so everyone can chat and connect after the first day drop-off. Please look out for the zoom link in your emails that morning (and note the time change).
Here are some reminders for you as we go into our last weekend before the start of school.
Please note: the West Wing is nut-free this year. We ask that you make sure that your child’s lunches and snacks do not contain any nuts as they cause threatening reactions in some of our students. We recommend seed spreads like sunflower butter as a great substitute. Thank you for your support in keeping all children in our community healthy!

Also, please make sure that your child’s snack is placed in a separate, disposable container/bag labeled with his/her name that also includes a clean mask. This will help us support the children as they become more autonomous with our snack routines and hygiene practices.
When you feel like you’re getting in the rhythm of things, we are reestablishing our bringing flowers sign up genius. The classrooms will be blooming with flowers from your garden, from the farmers’ market, or from Trader Joes! Check it out.
