A Chocolate Leaf

Cindy and Jessica gathered some children in the East Wing and took a walk to see what they could find to enrich the materials they used in the classroom. The children collected different leaves, sticks, and flowers they found on the ground.

Stella:  “I found a chocolate leaf.”
Jessica: “I have never heard of a chocolate leaf.”

Mia: “No, it has brown on it like chocolate.”
Stella: “I put in a leopard leaf.  It has spots.”
Georgia I: “Like a leopard. Leopard leaf.”

Cindy: “How can we use the things we found?”
Devin: “We can make things with them.”
Micah: “Like trees.”
Declan: “Or airplanes and scorpions.”
Stella: “We can’t take the stuff home. It is for us to use at school.”

Lucy T: “I drew a cat and the leaves are falling on it.”
