On Monday, October 18th, from 3:00 to 4:30, we will be hosting our first ever afternoon with our children’s nannies and family caregivers. It’s something we’ve been thinking about doing for awhile but just never quite got it going. When Lawson’s mom, Kay, approached me with the idea, I knew it was time. I introduced the opportunity to the teachers and Cynthia and Flora (with Cindy’s help) agreed to take on the project. Kay’s idea had us looking at the importance of bridging NSW philosophy and the language the teachers use with the children to align the home and school with familiar practices. We thought the idea was great. Our first step, as with everything we do, is to build a relationship that says we value you and so we have designed this first gathering to be just that. . .a time to meet each other (without the responsibility of babies and toddlers) and begin the dialogue that supports the children in the preschool years. Please check the sign up sheet on the door and invite your nannies to come. Sign their name if you are able to find alternate child care so they can attend.
