hello families –
I’ve now spent two mornings sitting with Kris in the NSW office while Sage is in school. many thanks again, Kris, for sharing your precious space with me. After conversations with Roleen and Kris, we decided that a somewhat slower transition process would be the best first step for Sage’s transition into the program, and the side benefit for me has been that I have been able to observe the work of the teachers and staff here. I’ve seen teachers lovingly, and generously support children who were struggling with transition. i’ve seen teachers engage the children in dialogue filled with curiosity. i’ve heard the teachers enforce limits with respect and patience. i’ve listened to conversations between the children as they share and explore their ideas. there’s singing and dancing and lots of laughter. all the reasons we wanted to be a part of NSW!
i dont know how much longer i will be sitting here since this is only Sage’s second day and she’s been off playing without so much as a look back! if anyone has any questions, please let me know. i just wanted to share my experience for anyone who may be wondering what its like here after you leave.
all the best,
belisa
