On Friday you'll find an invitation in your child's box
for our NSW Grandparents. Please pass it along to Bapa, and Nana and Papapa and
Gram and. . . all of your dear parents who are grandparents to your children
and who might want to join Roleen and meet other NSW grandparents on Monday,
March 22 from 7:00 to 8:30. Below is a view of the letter.
And, no, parents are not invited to this night. It's just for our
grandparents.
Dear Grandparents of
New School West children,
For years we have
invited grandparents to come to our school events but we have never arranged for an evening to chat. When I
heard some of the delightful conversations amongst you at our “Special
Friends” holiday performance, I was close to tears with the sweetness of it
all. With that as the beginning “spark”, I’ve decided to create a “first”. So. . . .
You are cordially
invited to a 90 minute gathering for the wonderful grandparents of NSW
children. We know you are truly important to your family who are part of
our school and that automatically makes you important to us. This gathering
will be an opportunity to exchange thoughts about your grand parenting.
Think about a favorite activity you have created with your grandchild and hopefully you'll share it with us.
What are some of the trials and tribulations that you may experience from time to time? I want to learn
everything you have to teach me and as we do at school everyday, I want us to
learn from each other. The evening is one of dialogue, of meeting new
friends and supporting each other. Please join me and other NSW
grandparents on
