Last month New School-West, along with Palisades Preschool, First Pres. Nursery School, Evergreen and the Pedagogical Institute, hosted the “Children as Producers of Culture” conference. Harold Göthson, the inspirational speaker at the teachers’ Study Tour in Sweden, flew here to offer the first day keynote speech. Literally busloads of educators toured all three schools, checked out the documentation, listened to presentations by the teachers, and shared experiences and inspiration. New School-West parents played a big part in the success: fixing, painting, cooking, and generally stepping up to make our school shine.
