Pajama Day!! Pancake Day!!
What better way to celebrate Pajama Day than with a stack of pancakes! A group worked to prepare a delicious bowl of berry compote to go along with our pancake snack. The team of chefs used their knife skills to chop strawberries and blueberries. Next, they drizzled a touch of vanilla with a tiny little bit of sugar for the makings of the yummiest pancake bite ever! The children mixed all the ingredients together and we put it in the fridge to chill for a bit. They were so proud to make a recipe for the whole group and couldn’t wait for everyone to get a taste.
Even those of us who were not wearing PJ’s embraced the spirit of the play. We shared lots of snuggly reading time together, enjoyed our pancakes with whipped cream smiles, and invented games kept with the pajama theme. One game started with everyone running, then freezing and pretending to fall asleep when someone yelled, “Naptime!” When another child shouted, “Wake up time,” the game repeated. These children are so creative and never miss a beat to find ways to play and laugh together. It was a joyous morning!

We accomplished a lot together and it has been quite a year of making amazing memories.
Some of you have already said your goodbyes, ready to celebrate our “go ahead” to travel again and we are envisioning you enjoying your families in peaceful settings and we are sending you our love and appreciation. We’re excited to think of return not as a place of sameness, not to what it was, but as an informed and experience-driven newness. With welcoming parents back into the school, we’re reimagining documentation of the children’s day. We hope our Peek At The Week entries have given you a window to the children’s meaningful work and joyful moments. We want to take the opportunity with our last entry to thank you all for what has truly been a magical year. Here’s to all of us, and for making each moment count. With gratitude, the NSW staff.
