Cilantro Peek at the week

We had an amazing first week back from our Spring Break! The children continued to share their knowledge of sea life and the beach. At the kinetic sand table, they shared how the shells came to be and invited each other to hear the ocean. Beach experiences and sea creatures also surfaced in clay, drawings, and paintings in the Middle Courtyard.

At the Party Place, the children have been taking on different personas and have shown interest in performing a play.

To extend on this idea, a small group worked on what it means to create a storyline and made a list of original characters. They were so delighted to try on costumes from the NSW inventory. Spontaneous roles made an appearance as they cast about all the possibilities.

Most of all they were excited to be with each other again! We really enjoy being together when we get to move, sing, and be creative through music in a fun way that strengthens bonding. This week, we moved and sang along to the super fun kid tune, Action Song! Here’s the link:

Thank you to Oona’s family for the beautiful flowers! The children take great pride in arranging  flowers and their formations truly brighten our areas. Here’s the link to our SignUpGenius for classroom flowers:
