Cooking at NSW this week

It’s a busy, busy week here! We have had a parent cooking here every day this week! On Monday, Allison, (Sage’s, EW) came in and made carrot ginger soup with the children. On Tuesday, Adam (Bryce & Caroline E&W) came in and they made spanikopita (Greek spinach pie). On Wednesday, Annie (Sadie, WW) made crepes with them. And today, Jill (Piper, WW) is coming on to help them make fruit bars. Wow! Yum! Thanks so much everyone. What an exciting week it’s been!

On top of that, Ivana made Serbian apple pie & Katherine will be making spring rolls inspired by the apples & vegetables Sofia (EW) brought in. And thanks to Raven & Phoebe (EW) for the beautiful apricots from their tree!

We are so excited to see that you are so excited by this new adventure! Keep the fruits & veggies coming! And for those of you who have been thinking about coming in to cook, let us know what day! The following weeks are pretty open.

Finally, we are wondering what handy tools & appliances you might have gathering dust in your kitchen. We would love to have a food processor, blender, juicer, dehydrator and any other kitchen tools that would be good for transforming your wonderful fruits & veggies. Bring ’em in if you have ’em!

Thanks for making this program such a great success! Keep up the good work!

Best,

Kristen Messina (Luca, WW), Katherine and Ivana (snack)
