With a few tears and some translation, Evelyn said her goodbyes to the children today. It is early but after 8 years at NSW, it will take some time to get used to the idea of not seeing Evelyn at snack, not feeling her reassuring presence at nap, and not seeing the tiny touches to dolls, plants, food and our environment that she so lovingly shared with us for years. She will be moving to Georgia to help raise her granddaughter. Her daughter and son-in-law will then be deployed to Alaska, where Evelyn will move to continue her dedication to her family. We will miss her, and the children have ideas of how to celebrate the time she spent with us. She will be at graduation!
