Hi, Friends. It’s time! We’ve got to talk about Graduation and make sure we’ve got all our little ducklings in a row! The good news is that those of you who are moving onto kindergarten have already paid tuition for July with your original deposit so that’s kind of fun. The hard news is that, well, you’re moving onto kindergarten. Whew! Tissues, please. Here’s some details of the day so you can plan now and ways in which you can help make the day go smoothly. Be sure you ask questions if you’re wondering about anything:

For those of you who are moving onto kindergarten, this is a reminder that you have already paid for July with your original deposit.
In our NSW tradition, you will be putting together a Graduation Package (that all of you will want!) that includes a yearbook, a t-shirt designed by the children, a DVD from the teachers, a certificate. All this for $100. There will be an envelope marked “Graduation” in the office.
Graduation will be on Friday, July 19th, from 11:00 to 2:00 for all the children on the EW (even those who are staying for a third year) and this year the Hollands from the WW are joining us.
The ceremony will start at 11:00 (that’s our plan!) at Beethoven Elementary School’s Auditorium so meet us there no later than 10:45 so the children have time to settle in with their teachers. The address is 3711 Beethoven Street just North of Venice Blvd., South of Palms, and West of NSW.
We are expecting about 150 people. There will be parking on the street so adjust your schedules so you can come relaxed and ready to enjoy the day.
The children will be entering the auditorium together, sing some songs, receive their certificates, and honor their teachers. Once that’s done, we will ask the children to sit with their parents (or on the floor in front) to watch the DVD that the teachers put together for you. Bring tissues.
That should bring us to around 12:40 or so when we say goodbye to our extended family and special friends and the immediate family will leave to meet back at school and enjoy some good food and friendship.
LET ME REPEAT: All your families and special friends can join us at this ceremony at Beethoven Auditorium but we will say goodbye to them there. I wish we had space for everyone for lunch at the school but we just don’t have the room.
We’ll be having Ana’s Tacos making food for us (the same people who were at my house) so plan to eat around 1:00. We’ll be saying our goodbyes around 2:00.
We suggest you bring your own water bottles to the auditorium.
HERE’S WHERE WE MIGHT NEED HELP:
Do you know anyone who would like to video tape the day? We want you to come and relax. We need two people. Jona is the contact person with all the details. He and James Takata have done it in the past and have all the details.
Do you know anyone who can give us a special discount for the printing of our yearbook and certificates? Jessica is the contact person if you have questions.
Can you burn 50 DVDs for us? Jessica will print out the labels but we need someone to burn the DVDs and put the labels on.
Can you help roll the certificates with ribbon? We have the supplies.
Are you willing to help if we think of more things?
