Today, Laz’s mom Jess came to make snack with the children. She brought a selection of seeds, zucchini, pasta, kale, and ingredients for pesto. The children tasted the seeds.
Some of them were reluctant.
And many tasted the variations offered: plain pumpkin seeds, toasted ones, and some with salt.
Then, the “spiralizer” was introduced. Knowing some children would not like pasta, Jess brought a zucchini alternative!
The seed pesto pasta was offered at lunch to both the East and West Wing children. Some of them wanted a taste and others declined.
Teacher Ivana: Did anyone change their mind? Would you like some?
Georgia: I changed my mind!
Thank you, Jess! We hope to add your recipe to our collection of healthy and yummy NSW treats!
