After months of taste testing seasonal produce the children have selected favorites for their Thanksgiving Feast Wednesday at NSW. They proposed hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, and chicken nuggets for the main course, tomatoes, red bell peppers, and beets for their vegetable, pumpkin and carrot soup, and berry crisp, apple crisp, or pumpkin muffins for dessert. They voted today and the results are:
Main: HOT DOGS & MAC n CHEESE
Vegetable: BROCCOLI (cooked) & RED BELL PEPPERS (uncooked)
Soup: PUMPKIN SOUP
Dessert: PUMPKIN MUFFINS
Jill Bryman, Piper’s mom, offered to make gluten free versions of the pumpkin muffins and bring gluten free buns for those on this restriction.
Please sign up on the door to make the dishes and drop them off Wednesday by 11:30 for the children’s Thanksgiving Feast! Recipes are available from Katherine and Ivana. If your children don’t attend on Wednesdays, please have them come for the Feast from 12:00-1:00! The teachers and children will sit together as a whole school and enjoy seasonal foods and good company.
