“It was all about plants.” -Ophelia

Alexis and Dan (Charlie's mom and dad) brought peat pots to start seeds for the garden.

Flora helped and will continue to work with this group.

The children also direct sowed seeds into the new soil.

Ophelia shared the work at the reflection meeting.

Ophelia: “It was all about plants. We put three seeds in there. There were purple carrots.”

Payton, observing the peat pots asks: “Why does it have the dirt inside?”

Ophelia, remembering what she talked about with Dan and Alexis: “Because then the dirt won’t be all messed up.

Xavier has more observations: “Why are they in a box?”

Ophelia: “They are going to stay in the classroom to grow.”

With this information, a group in the afternoon participated in sprouting seeds.

And transplanting into the garden.

The teachers will be meeting next week to add the garden as an appointment for both the East and West Wing children on days when maintenance is needed, about 3 times a week.
