“It’s Monday” -a note from Roleen

Hello, Friends.  It’s Monday, November 24th, 2014, and the holidays are upon us and things are moving along.  With my “It’s Monday” shout out comes a reminder to take some much needed moments to find the “stillness” because it is in the quiet that the sounds of gratitude become more vibrant.  That said, thank you. . . for all you do for us, for your families, and for yourselves.  I sooooo appreciate you.  Here’s to holding hands while we move forward together:

Nov. 25thTomorrow:  A lunchtime Thanksgiving Feast for the children at 12:00.  Every NSW child is invited to join us around the tables to share some favorite foods together. There are sign ups on the door for you to check out but if you have any questions, ask Kris and/or the teachers. No need to bring lunches tomorrow unless you feel it’s important for your child and/or you.  We should have plenty of food for afternoon snack.

Things you should know besides how much I love you!:

Holidays can be crazy.  Don’t let them be.  Read the “Holiday” postings in the “Articles” section of the blog.  Don’t miss the one I wrote about my mom a few years back.  It will give you an inkling of understanding how lucky I’ve been in my life and I love sharing that with you.
January is the month for my R & R in Santa Barbara.  I actually work on the new year registration and kindergarten application evals so it’s not all relaxation but definitely restful.  I will be email and cell phone connected so you can always find me, though Kris and teachers will be “on” as they so wonderfully are. . . always.
The school will be closed on Friday, January 16th, at 12:15, to give time for our teachers to join me for our annual retreat in Santa Barbara.
The school is closed on Monday, January 19th, for Martin Luther King’s Birthday.
We are hosting 20 teachers from Korea on Thursday, January 29th, and are currently working on the details as they visit four local Reggio-inspired schools.  Our focus, besides environment, is how we work with parents.  We may be calling on your help!  Stay tuned!
We would love for you to join our PI Conference on February 27th/28th with Harold Gothson (our Sweden connection) and more.  Check out thinkwithus.org and see everything we’re doing.
So. . . here we go again with fliers attached as promised.  Have a much love-filled Thanksgiving.  See you next week. xoR
