And it’s time to pull my head out of the sand and face the fact that this is the last week of school before our summer break. Breathe! Here’s what we’ve got going:
For our grads: Type “graduation” into the search box on the blog for a reminder of what’s happening on Friday. Be sure you get your $100 into the envelope marked “graduation” that’s on the office door. Remember that the lunch here at NSW is for immediate family and grandparents only so we can accommodate everyone. We welcome all other “special friends” to join us at 11:00 to share in the ceremony at Beethoven.
For our WW families: REMEMBER, WE ARE CLOSED ON FRIDAY. Thanks for signing up to bring salads, drinks, desserts, paper goods, etc. in support of our graduating families. There are still some spaces open so if you haven’t yet, check out the sign up sheet on the door in the hallway and see how you can help. There will be greeters to take your “goodies” from 10:00 to 11:00 that morning or you can bring them in on Thursday afternoon. And thank you!
For all of our families (current and incoming): We will need help on Saturday to pack up the kitchen to prepare for our remodel that officially begins on Monday, the 25th. Breathe! We will be working all week so if you have a few hours to give during the week, as well, we can use your help as we sort, toss, and organize. I’ll be working alongside you so let me know if and when you are available via e-mail (thenewschoolwest@gmail.com) and I’ll try to coordinate schedules. If you have boxes, we will use them. And thank you!
Group play days for our new incoming children will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week. The grads will be walking to Beethoven to get their final practices in to prep for their big day on Friday.
Too many goodbyes: Though we’re never really prepared to say goodbye, we know we have to and so this week there will be a lot of hugging going on. It’s not just goodbye for the grads but. . . breathe. . .we are also saying farewell to:
Maisha who will be pursuing her dreams of being a dancer.
Addy (WW Lily) who will be going to the preK program at Overland Ave.
Nico (WW Lily) who will be going to the DK program at Willows
Ivana who will soon be “nesting” in preparation for the arrival of her baby son, Filippos, due August 28th. (Ivana plans to be back with us in January).
We’re sending them all off with open arms knowing that they won’t be out of lives for very long. NSW friendships are strong and the glue that continues to connect us to each other as we move forward on our life’s journey. And there are so many paths of wonder to share as we continue to learn together. So. . .it’s “Cheers” and “Best Wishes” to all of you!
So, “It’s Monday” and there it is. Enjoy your week. xoxoRoleen
