Kids Sign In

The West Wing children have had a growing interest in writing and creating representational drawings. To support this, the teachers have created more opportunities to work on these fine motor skills like the child’s sign-in sheet.

Each morning before circle time the sign in sheet will be on the table in the West Wing Studio. In the afternoon it will be on the exploration table in the Front Yard.  If your child misses signing in at their arrival time the form will be moved to the West Wing Mini Studio where they will have an opportunity to sign it later in the day. While this sign in sheet helps to strengthen the children’s eye-hand coordination and fine motor development, it also encourages writing. For the teachers, this is also a tool used to record each child’s progress while mastering these fine motor skills. Over time, these writing samples will be transferred to the children’s portfolios.
