In the living area some of these materials have been set out with bugs to provoke the children to manipulate them and as a means for dramatic play. In this area the children create homes for butterflies and invent a wonderful array of stories.
Wire has been added to support other possibilities; we invite you to watch how the children interact with the space and to leave a provocation (a flying caterpillar maybe).
These materials have been making their way to different parts of the classroom and we thank those of you who have contributed and invite you to take a closer look through the eyes of a child. We look forward to discovering new ways in which these materials provoke both the children and ourselves.
