Mi Cuerpo, YAY! -Dylan

One way to bring our community together is through shared songs and the West Wing teachers have introduced one of their favorites, “Mi Cuerpo”, to the children. It is a simple song with repeating lyrics and easy to learn. The body motions add a kinesthetic element that makes it fun.

Mi cuerpo, mi cuerpo hace música.

Mi cuerpo, mi cuerpo hace música.

Mis manos hace (clap, clap, clap)

Mis pies hace (stomp, stomp, stomp)

Mi boca hace La, La, La

Mi cuerpo hace Cha, Cha, Cha!

As teachers we recognize that as we sing together we build a classroom culture that gives us a stronger sense of togetherness… and we all have a good laugh afterward.  Some of our frequently sung favorites are; “El Chocolate” by Jose Luis Orosco, “Catch a Falling Star” by Perry Como and “5 Little Ducks”.
