Bridging Relationships

This week, our morning meetings have held space to share with the children that the Cilantros, Dandelions, Mints (NSW online group), and three current East Wingers will be the new East Wing group after summer break. The pod rosters were held side by side as a visual to symbolize coming together. Marley recognized the faces from the Mint group and introduced us to the children from his ‘ipad school.’ Part of our bridging relationships to get to know the children from the other pods has been to read aloud their new identity panels. As Mason’s was being read, hands shot up in the air to express that they too had similar interests. That same morning we welcomed Mason from the Aloe Vera group to our very first real time play experience together. The children were beside themselves when the atelier sliding door opened to greet Mason in the Sand Area. Just a glimpse of our year-long barrier opening filled us all with hope for more connected magical moments. Mason played with the friends, showed us how to go up the bars, and we invited her to the Community Garden to harvest strawberries. We are so excited for Mason to join us in our outdoor play Wednesday and Friday mornings. It will be fun to see new friendships blossom!
Thank you Colette’s family for the beautiful flowers this week!

They truly brighten our West Wing spaces and provide children with multiple opportunities for exploration and investigation. Here’s the link to our SignUpGenius for classroom flowers:
