Every semester, teachers Flora and Amy present the qualities of our school and our level of teaching at Santa Monica College Early Childhood Education Classes. Roleen also teaches ECE classes at SMC and speaks of our unique setting and environment. So, when it’s time for students to do their practicum hours, they reach out to us. Policy dictates that they are never alone with children and do not assist them in personal needs. Amy and Flora are certified by the state of California through the California Mentor Program to guide interns during the hours they are here. We accept the interns who have a connection with us and a strong desire to work within our approach. This program is where almost all of our current teachers came from (even me). So please welcome Kris Hawkes, Edgar Valdivia, Anthony Garcia, and welcome back – Paola Cervantes who worked with us for 9 years before opening her own school.
