This Week’s Contributions

Eli (with mom, Jaclyn WW) shared the story of Purim in celebration of the Jewish holiday.

We had birthday books at West Wing circle time with Kirby, Sawyer and their parents too!

Snack has served as a new forum for critique – how to give and receive it flexibly. The East Wing and sometimes the West Wing offer feedback on letter, number and the representation of snack items in a supportive and informative way. This scaffolding of skills among peers is one of the easiest ways for children to learn and happens when the moment offers itself in the morning. Snack was provided this week by:

The Farmer’s Market trips have added a research component as the children get insights about healthy eating tips for our turtles, Cody and Squirt.  They love leafy greens and the farmers were very happy to give the children bags of wilted lettuces! Thanks to Sandra (Caitlin’s mom, EW) for helping shepherd this crew at the farmer’s market.

In celebration of Roleen’s birthday, April (Mehana’s mom, WW) brought hand made leis and fresh flowers for the school. With the intention to share this Hawaiian tradition of Springtime joy, April will offer a lei making experience for May 1st. Stay tuned for more information!

We rounded out our week with COOKIES! Laura (Ava’s mom, EW) baked with the children so that everyone had a bite of chewy, yummy chocolate chip cookies.
