Dawson: "Tomorrow is your birthday little doggie. go to sleep, and when you wake up, it will be your birthday."
Axel ( the doggie) opens his eyes. Dawson walks over to soothe him.
Dawson: "When I love you like this it helps you to sleep. Now close your eyes.
Sora: "He's so cute when he's sleeping."
Dawson: "Aaww! He is."
(from the kitchen as she pulls food from the oven)
Reese: "He has to get some sleep because if he doesn't he'll be cranky at the party."
One of the values of dramatic play is the opportunity for children to act out what they believe their parents do while they are sleeping. It's a familiar situation for most children. The language used in this moment is sweet, and reflects the love the children know their parents feel for them.
