“We need to ask for support at Reflection Meeting.” – Philippos

From their first days in the West Wing Building Space, the children constructed and reconstructed the making of trucks. Now in the East Wing, their interest has deepened and the Building Space is exploding with ideas and designs. The children are supported by the school systems that value collaborative work, reflection meetings, and uninterrupted time and over the months they have created a Fire Truck that has become an important focus in the classroom. Because this design is familiar, it remains open and invites ongoing participation. Out of this has come a system of communication and value of teamwork.

Rio: This part can be the engine. (Smiles)
Lia: Actually, we can use this block for it.
Philippos: We need to ask for support at reflection meeting.
Rio: Yes, we need help with the engine.

The children continue exchanging their ideas and as they do this, they add more dimensions to their work. Reflection Meeting has offered a space to test communication, give and receive critique in a safe environment, and involve the entire group in a collaborative project.
